Bree Stone, wife of Dr Alex Cross, impresses a lot of people with her cool-headed approach to finding out who the bomber may be. Decisions made at her level of command, Chief of Detectives, were previously not given the credence they deserved. But Bree made many of the crucial calls in this action-packed story.
The way the story unravels is interesting because Dr Cross and Chief Stone travel on similar paths to reach the outcome. Cross is brought in by the FBI to assist with the psychological side of things, but his wife's intuition reads stronger throughout.
