We meet Tansy who is a designer of children's bedrooms. She is also the neice of the Beekeeper, who was once a nun in Queensland's Roman Catholic tradition. The plot thickens when Tansy looks up her Aunt, whom she has never met and develops a relationship which holds the whole family together despite the secrets of a bygone era.

An entertaining tale, the story is set in the present and seeks to touch on a multitude of attitudes and have you think these through in the scenarios that are created. What is the lesser of two evils and when do the means justify the ends? How do people who are powerless grapple with the difficulties they face and consequences of actions perpetrated by others who betray their position of trust and responsibility to those in their care?

It was hard to start reading, but very rewarding once the characters came to life.
