This book is the first in a series that involves Ingrid,
a teenager who excels in athletics, particularly soccer.
It begins when she is waiting to be picked up from
training and decides, for the first time ever, to walk
home.
She gets hopelessly lost and ends up meeting Crazy
Katie, a woman with a colorful history, who is
murdered around the time Ingrid accepts her brief
hospitality. As Ingrid realises she can be circumstantially
tied to the scene of the crime by a taxi ride, she begins
her own investigation in order to uncover what happened
and clear the suspicions of the police.
With so many mysterious twists and turns and few people
she can reliably trust, the scene is set for a curious ride as
she takes on the role of Alice in a local production of Alice
in Wonderland.
Intended for teenage readers, this is an exciting tale, even if
it does stretch reality with its imagined situations of peril
and risks to personal safety.
