Flora 717 is born into the worker class of her beehive society.
Determined to be more than the role she was given at birth,
she works her way into the Queen's inner sanctum.
The hierarchy of the hive is altered because she strives to survive
and she angers powerful enemies as she continually breaks the
rules of her orchard hive society. It triggers revolt in the reader's
mind as you find yourself willing her to win out against her rivals,
traditional society that ask her to obey, accept and serve the hive.
You learn much about bees and their routines as they come to life
in this well-written science-fiction novel. But you can extrapolate
the ideas from this book into the struggles of many people on our
planet today who struggle against forces that work against what
many reasonable people expect are ordinary human freedoms.
