A well-researched fictional novel about the Berlin Wall. We learn about the shocking atrocities that were done to German people, particularly East Berliners, who were hunted and informed on by their friends and family as the Stasi endeavoured to make the Communist regime work, despite the desires of the German people.

One day the wall goes up and families are unable to visit each other. Freedom of movement between the two Berlins East & West is extremely limited, unless you are working for the Communist State.
Nothing democratic about living there!

The story is constructed by a series of flashbacks, before, during and after the wall. The story is woven through following a number of key characters' lives. Their lives begin innocently but in the end they are inextricably linked and their very existences are threatened by the survival of each one. Mystery and intrigue are constant and the reader is so intoxicated by the possibilities of what may happen that it is almost impossible to put down.
